1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using the Multi-Headed Learning Engine ("MHLE," "Service," "we," "us," or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use our Service.

These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the Service. By using the Service, you represent that you are at least 18 years of age, or if you are between 13 and 18, that you have obtained parental or guardian consent.

2. Description of Service

MHLE is an AI-powered educational platform designed to assist graduate-level students with learning, research, and knowledge synthesis. Our Service includes:

  • Multi-perspective AI analysis of educational content
  • Note-taking and course organization tools
  • Fact verification and knowledge graph visualization
  • Simulation and scenario generation
  • Document processing and extraction

3. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

IMPORTANT: Our Service uses artificial intelligence technologies, including but not limited to OpenAI and Google Gemini, to generate content. By using this Service, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • AI outputs may contain errors, inaccuracies, or outdated information. AI-generated content is provided "as-is" and should not be relied upon as the sole source of truth.
  • Content is for educational purposes only. AI-generated analyses, summaries, and suggestions do not constitute professional, legal, medical, financial, or academic advice.
  • No professional relationship is created. Using this Service does not establish any professional, advisory, or fiduciary relationship.
  • User verification is required. You are solely responsible for independently verifying all information before relying on it for academic work, research, or any other purpose.
  • AI may produce biased or incomplete analysis. AI models can reflect biases present in their training data and may not capture all relevant perspectives.

4. Third-Party AI Services

Our Service utilizes third-party AI providers to process and analyze your content. By using MHLE, you acknowledge that:

  • Your input data may be transmitted to third-party AI services (including OpenAI and Google) for processing
  • These third-party services have their own terms of service and privacy policies
  • We do NOT use your data to train AI models. Your content is used solely to provide the requested analysis and is not used for model training purposes.
  • You should not submit sensitive personal information, confidential data, or trade secrets through the Service

5. User Accounts and Responsibilities

When you create an account, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information
  • Maintain the security of your password and account
  • Accept responsibility for all activities under your account
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access

6. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree NOT to use the Service to:

  • Submit content that infringes on intellectual property rights
  • Generate harmful, abusive, harassing, or illegal content
  • Attempt to manipulate, jailbreak, or circumvent AI safety measures
  • Submit content containing malware or malicious code
  • Use the Service for academic dishonesty or plagiarism
  • Impersonate others or misrepresent your affiliation
  • Engage in any activity that violates applicable laws
  • Reverse engineer or attempt to extract AI models or algorithms
  • Use outputs to train competing AI systems

7. Intellectual Property

Your Content: You retain ownership of all content you submit to the Service. By submitting content, you grant us a limited license to process, analyze, and store your content solely to provide the Service.

AI-Generated Outputs: You are granted a license to use AI-generated outputs for your personal educational purposes. Note that AI-generated content may not be eligible for copyright protection in all jurisdictions.

Our Platform: The MHLE platform, including its design, features, and underlying technology, remains our exclusive property.

8. Subscription and Payment Terms

Free Tier: Basic features are available at no cost with usage limits as specified in your account dashboard.

Paid Plans: Premium features require a paid subscription. Payments are processed through Stripe and are non-refundable except as required by law.

Billing: Subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis. You may cancel at any time, with access continuing until the end of your billing period.

Price Changes: We reserve the right to modify pricing with 30 days' advance notice.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MHLE AND ITS AFFILIATES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:

  • Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
  • Loss of profits, data, or goodwill
  • Errors, inaccuracies, or omissions in AI-generated content
  • Academic or professional consequences resulting from reliance on AI outputs
  • Unauthorized access to or alteration of your data
  • Service interruptions or technical failures

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR COMPLETELY SECURE.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless MHLE, its affiliates, and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Service, violation of these Terms, or infringement of any third-party rights.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion. Upon termination:

  • Your right to use the Service will immediately cease
  • You may request export of your data within 30 days
  • We may delete your data after a reasonable retention period

13. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association, except where prohibited by law. You agree to waive any right to a jury trial or to participate in a class action lawsuit.

14. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes via email or prominent notice on the Service. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
